Hi. My name is Leah and I am a diabetic. Type II. Let me start this out by saying if you've ever been warned about "syndrome X" or "prediabetes" . . . HEED THE WARNINGS!! I didn't and here I am. I was gestationally diabetic with my 2nd child back in 2000. The doctors warned me that I now had an increased chance of becoming diabetic later in life if I didn't change my eating habits and my lack of exercise. If I could turn back time . . .
I was just put on an insulin regimen two weeks ago. I am so tired of this already and struggle some days with remembering everything I have to do before I can eat. I am sure, unfortunately, at some point it will become a habit. My goal is to get my self back under control before it's had too much of a chance to be the norm.
I'm sure I will have some ups and downs along the way and I learned years ago when my Dad was sick that writing is a good outlet for me. So, with this recent bump in my life I decided it was time to write again.
Join me on my journey if you'd like . . . through the tears, laughter, depression, insanity . . . .
